Common Mime

The Common Mime an amazing creature right from the egg to the adult butterfly..

The COMMON MIME - It is a large butterfly having 2 forms. The form 'clytia' mimics the Common India Crow, while 'dissimilis' mimic the Blue Tiger. Yellow spots on its hindwings distiguishes it from its original models. The best place to sight this butterfly is while it is mud-puddling along riparian patches, its much preferred habitat. The flight of The Common Mime is lazy with continues fluttering of wings.

This butterfly at its pupa stage is utterly amazing. It simply looks like a twig on a branch. Its truly a marvel of camouflage.
