Photography Of Butterflies.....

Photography of butterflies is a very un-usaual and rare hobby. Many people mostly look for birds all over the place but neglect the lesser known fauna - BUTTERFLIES.

Any normal camera with suitable macro attachments is good enough for getting pictures.
A normal 18-50mm lens is more than enough to get amazing pictures.

The best time to capture pictures of butterflies is at dawn. WHY?? Butterflies are cold blooded and need to attain a certain temperature( around 30C) to do what they do best - FLY. During the morning butterflies bask in the sun and are easily approachable.

Many a time people use unethical and orthadox methods for getting good pictures. People might pinch the anthrax(middle portion) of the butterfly.. Therefore stunning but not killing it. They might even bait the butterfly. The real pleasure and fun is the long hours of patience and the back breaking postures to get the perfect picture.
