Common Pierrot

A small white butterfly usually having black spots on its underside as well its upperside. Mostly it is seen with its wings closed, the pied colouration is an instant revealer.. The central portion of the wings lack the black markings, which distiguishes it from other Pierrots. As in "Blues", the hind wing has metallic green spots and a short thread like tail. It is a common butterfly seen in Goa and is seen flying very close to the ground in open areas..
